Amidst fears that two Grands Prix is the region might damage ticket sales of one or both events, Bernie Ecclestone has said that the Singapore and Malaysia Grands Prix would be held at opposite ends of the calendar, despite the fact that logistically this would make no sense since the two countries are so close together..

"The races will be at different ends of the racing calendar," Ecclestone told the New Straits Times. "The Malaysian GP would probably remain (at the start of the season), while the Singapore race will probably be at the end.

"I can only see a positive impact for Malaysia," he added.
