Bernie Ecclestone is to meet with team bosses today in an attempt to calm the customer car row, which has flared up again yesterday, just as everyone thought it had disappeared, or at least headed to the law courts.
Following yesterday's development, when Spyker protested Toro Rosso, Ecclestone is rightly concerned that thing could get out of hand and that - not for the first time - off track squabbles divert attention away from the real business, racing.
Despite the indignant posturing regarding rules, agreements and rights, it has long been felt that the bottom line is finding a compensation package that will appease those teams that feel they are losing out.
If anyone can cut through the bull and establish who wants what in order to shut up and get on with the game it is Ecclestone, a past master at such deals.
