A1 Team Brasil is delighted to announce that Bruno Junqueira will continue racing for the team at this month's Mexico City round of the 2006/07 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport.
After making his A1GP debut at the last race in Durban, picking up the points for the team in the feature race, Bruno will carry on driving for the team next time out in Mexico. The track is a familiar stomping ground for the 30-year-old Brazilian, on which he has competed twice times in his Champ Car duties, finishing in the points both times.
The Mexico City round is the ninth of eleven events in this year's A1GP championship, and will take place 23-25 March.
Bruno Junqueira: "I am happy to be continuing with Team Brasil and I'm happy to be going to a track I know. I've done well in the past at Mexico City and it's a circuit I enjoy. I liked A1GP when I joined the series for the first time at the last race in South Africa and we had a reasonable pace there. I hope we can improve further for Mexico and I think it's possible to get a podium finish. I know we can be competitive there and I'm really looking forward to racing again."
Emerson Fittipaldi: "I am very happy that Bruno will race again in Mexico. He showed in South Africa how professional and talented he is with all the problems the team had over the weekend but we had a good finish under the circumstances. In my opinion, we are going to Mexico with a good chance of winning the race. Bruno has experience in champ car at the circuit, has achieved some good results and knows the track well. I am very, very happy with his participation and we are going to Mexico to win."
