Renault's Heikki Kovalainen has crashed heavily at Sakhir this morning, as testing resumes at the Bahrain track.
The accident took place at the exit to Turn 7, with the R27 going off into the barriers at high speed, destroying the right side of the car. Thankfully, the Finn climbed from the car unaided.
Though the Finn is OK, under the new rules that allow each team only two cars at tests, the fact that his car is so badly damaged is bad news for the French outfit, especially at such a crucial test.
Teammate Giancarlo Fisichella is currently carrying out a race distance run.
