Bridgestone Motorsport completed an extended four day test today at the Circuit de la Valenciana Ricardo Tormo. Originally scheduled to be a three-day test but extended due to bad weather, this week's test was the first opportunity for the teams to conduct comparison runs of two of Bridgestone's four planned tyre specifications for the 2007 FIA Formula One World Championship season.
At previous winter tests only one specification of dry grooved tyre had been available (Hard in Barcelona and Medium in Jerez) but this week teams were supplied with Medium and Soft specification tyres. These are the specifications planned for use at the first round of the 2007 season which will take place in Melbourne, Australia on March 18.
As agreed by the Testing Committee four further three-day group tests will be conducted in February. The official dates for the tests are 6-8 February at the Jerez circuit in Spain, 12-14 February at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain and two consecutive tests at the Bahrain International Circuit from 22-24 February and 27 February to 1 March.
