After a meeting between the representatives of Andy Soucek in Estepona, Spain on Saturday, they and David Price agreed terms for the young Spaniard to take his place alongside Christian Bakkerud in the DPR GP2 team for the 2007 season.
Following the Valencia test last month Price had been keen for Soucek to join DPR. "He showed a lot of potential in the November GP2 test, and I'm happy he has been so patient with us in our deal, or no deal, period," he said.
The 21-year-old, who was born in Madrid and lives in Spain but holds Austrian nationality, was 2005 Spanish Formula Three Champion and runner up in the 2006 World Series by Renault. Soucek said, "It was a question of DPR or not at all. I feel we will work well together, I'm glad the waiting is over."
DPR will start the new season with two young drivers and a new sense of purpose.
