Following its launch here on Tuesday, BMW has exclusive use of the Valencia circuit today and tomorrow.
Robert Kubica was at the wheel of the new F1.07 while Sebastian Vettel drove the F1.06B.
Both drivers concentrated on set-up work in order to understand how to make best use of the Bridgestone tyres. The Pole was hindered by some teething problems on the new car, consequently he only completed 39 laps.
According to the team, the problems encountered with the F1.07 were "minor things, but time consuming".
Vettel, on the other hand, had a trouble free day, completing 88 laps.
Kubica will continue with the new car tomorrow, while Timo Glock will take over from Vettel.
