Less than two months after DPR and Carlin Motorsport announced that they were to join forces for this year's GP2 Championship, it has been revealed that the merger has fallen through.
A statement issued by DPR on Wednesday evening, in which it was confirmed that Dane Christian Bakkerud has been signed for 2007, read: "DPR will be taking up its place on the 2007 GP2 grid without the support of Carlin Motorsport after the planned merger of the two teams fell through.
David Price said, "We're working flat out now to get the cars prepared and the second driver finalised so we can get fully back up to speed before the official testing starts."
DPR will continue operating from its Bookham, Surrey base.
