With his NASCAR plans seemingly in disarray, Jacques Villeneuve looks set to turn his attention elsewhere, by making a little bit of motor sport history.
Whereas Mario Andretti and Emerson Fittipaldi both won the Indianapolis 500, the Champ Car series and the Formula One World Championship, Graham Hill won the 500 race at Indianapolis, a couple of Formula One World Championship titles and the Le Mans 24-Hour Race.
Now, according to reports coming out of France, the 1997 World Champion is aiming to be the first driver to win at Le Mans in addition to winning the Indy 500 and taking the Champ Car and F1 titles.
The Canadian, who will compete in the annual Villars 24-Hour charity ski race next weekend, looks set to be unveiled as part of Peugeot's Le Mans team, contesting the legendary event in one of the French company's diesel cars.
Though Peugeot has yet to make an official announcement, sections of the French media name three-time Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais as possible teammates to Villeneuve, along with Stephane Sarrazin and Ferrari test driver Nicolas Minassian.
