NEWS STORY

A short while ago, Fernando Alonso took to the track at Jerez, thereby making his debut for his new team, McLaren, having left the team with which he won back-to-back titles, Renault.

Although details of the 11th hour deal which saw Renault and team boss Flavio Briatore relent are not known, it is clear that all manner of conditions were agreed upon.

In addition to wearing a plain (white) helmet and overalls, the silver and black McLaren was devoid of all sponsor decals as it took to the track.

Understandably, security is also extremely tight as the Woking team enjoys its first day of work with its (new) prize asset.
