Last year Nicolas Lapierre won the sprint race in Sentul and is aiming for a repeat performance with A1 Team France this weekend after the team stormed back into championship contention at the last round of the A1 Grand Prix season in Malaysia.
Nicolas Lapierre comments, "After the GP2 tests this week in Europe, I can't wait to get started on my second A1GP race in Indonesia. Last year, I won the sprint race, so I have some good memories. This time we're in Indonesia much earlier than last time and we'll be right in the rainy season. But despite lack of visibility I am rarely bothered by rain. With the A1 France team, I hope to continue our podium trends. The car has progressed well since the start of the season. This time, our rookie driver Loic Duval will be able to help us with the important data that we gather from the rookie session. We should have a positive weekend in front of the usually full grandstands. Experiencing the emotion and great support from the spectators is very encouraging."
Jean-Paul Driot, Team Principal A1GP France: "A1 Team France is clearly showing its strength as we recover our place near the top of the classification. The team is working hard to return to winning ways and the engineers are working well with our drivers. Our winning experience on this track should help us this weekend and I'm expecting a really strong performance from the team despite the tough competition. However, I hope that A1GP will clarify the regulations to avoid incidents like what we saw with the German team in the final result from Malaysia. We're completely focused on fighting for wins this weekend."
