iSport International have announced that Andreas Zuber will race for them in the 2007 GP2 series.
Andi won the Sunday race in Istanbul in 2006 in what was a strong debut season for Trident Racing. However it was his form in winter testing which sealed the deal, with the team stating he was "very impressive" and would "be able to fight for the Championship" in 2007. "He is poised to make a real impression," continued a team statement today, "and iSport is confident that he will continue to develop into a serious challenger.
"We expect the competition to be really tough and the whole team is looking forward to the challenge. We have got to know Andi well and he fits in very well with the team, so we are hoping to put ourselves right in the mix for top positions."
Andi himself is delighted with the move. “Since I tested with iSport at the end of 2005 I have had a good relationship with the team and after the recent tests I was confident that this would be a good option for me. I have made some good friends in the team already and I am looking forward to working with them, I am sure we can push for the Championship. I can’t wait for the Valencia test and getting into a serious programme in preparation for 2007."
