After the problems encountered in Beijing, it was relatively plain sailing when A1 GP returned to Malaysia for the fourth round of the 2006/2007 series.
Germany, South Africa and Indonesia were all punished for naughtiness during qualifying, with all three incurring penalties. After studying video footage, the stewards found Nico Hülkenberg (Team Germany) had caused an avoidable collision with A1 Team Ireland's Michael Devaney, while Adrian Zaugg (South Africa) and Ananda Mikola (Indonesia) were both guilty of blocking.
Neel Jani took an excellent flag-to-flag win in the Sprint Race, finishing over a second ahead of Germany's Nico Hülkenberg and New Zealand's Jonny Reid. In the Feature Race took a dominant victory. The 19-year-old German finished more than 42 seconds ahead of Great Britain's Robbie Kerr and defending champions France in a race shortened by heavy rain.
