Carlin DPR's preparations for the 2007 GP2 season continue apace this week, as the new team head to Spain for the final GP2 test of 2006. Carlin DPR has invited Ernesto Viso to become one of the first drivers to test with the team. Viso will join forces with Roly Vincini, who has been appointed Carlin DPR chief race engineer.

21 year-old Viso, who benefits from two year's experience in GP2, finished sixth in the 2006 championship with two race wins to his name. Based on his strong performance in the F1 feeder series, Viso also acted as third driver for the Spyker MF1 Team in the Formula One season finale in Brazil.

Before GP2, Viso competed in F3000 and British F3. The Venezuelan will be reunited with his former F3 boss Roly Vincini in Valencia, who ran the young driver at P1 Motorsport when he became 2003 British F3 Scholarship Champion.

Roly Vincini brings a wealth of experience to Carlin DPR and will further strengthen the existing technical team. Vincini played a pivotal role in taking Alx Danielsson to the 2006 World Series by Renault driver's title.

Vincini's new role will take him back to his old workplace at the former Brabham F1 factory at Chessington, which forms the new base for the Carlin DPR team.

Team Principal Trevor Carlin commented, "The entire team is excited at the prospect of taking part in its first GP2 test and I'm delighted that Roly and Ernesto will be joining us. They have worked so well together in F3 that I'm sure they will help us in achieving a successful first test.

"Although we are still in the early stages of preparing for next season, Roly will be a central figure and I'm confident that he will mould the best possible technical team around him."
