Carlin Motorsport is entering the GP2 series in 2007 in a joint venture with DPR. Trevor Carlin will head the operation and Dave Price is staying with the team, which will enter under the name of Carlin DPR.
The new team is relocating to the former Brabham F1 factory in Chessington, Surrey, which Carlin bought earlier this year. The GP2 programme will be assisted by the use of the in-house wind tunnel which is also being used for F3 development.
Trevor Carlin commented, "I'm absolutely delighted that we are moving into GP2 next season. Dave and I have come to an agreement which is beneficial to both of us and having him involved will be invaluable. I am confident that the team will be able to build on the successes that DPR has achieved in its last two years in GP2."
Dave Price said, "Trevor and I have known each other for over twenty years and we've always worked well together. We've been discussing this for several months and now the time is right from both of our perspectives to form this alliance. It puts the top on the Carlin pyramid of race series, from the 15 year-old drivers entering the sport, right through to the door of F1."
