A1 Team India returns to the race track this weekend in the first of three Asian rounds of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport. In the second year of the Series the calendar features new venues for this nation versus nation motor racing championship.

Beijing in China is one of the new cities which A1GP visits this season, the first time that the capital city has hosted an international motor racing championship. Armaan Ebrahim (right) will be driving for A1 Team Indian in the Beijing event, which is a temporary street circuit in the Economic Development zone, 20 minutes south east of the city centre. The 2008 Olympic venue will welcome the grid of 24 teams and drivers, with the newly built track which snakes around the convention centre and public roads to create a challenging track for the field of talented drivers.

Ebrahim has competed in the first two A1GP events, which were held in Europe, and is now looking forward to the Beijing event, a little closer to his home country.

He says, "Street circuits are very tough environments for young drivers such as myself and this one will definitely be a challenge for me. Although there are some long straights there are also some very tight corners and hairpins. I'll need to be very precise in my driving, as the concrete walls are very close all the way round the track, I won't have the luxury of wide run off areas that are features of the more traditional purpose-built circuits. Of course, none of the drivers have experienced this track, so we'll all be in the same position at the start of the weekend, so it's certainly a level playing field. I'll be aiming to keep away from the walls and bring the teams some points this weekend."

Yohann J Setna, Seat holder for A1 Team India added, "This will be a good experience for Armaan and I know it is one that he will enjoy. Although he is young and does not have the level of experience that many of his competitors have, he'll drive to the best of his ability and fly the flag for India in China this weekend."
