Alexandre Premat will be the MF1 (Spyker) third driver on Friday of the Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai.
Before then, Premat will test the MF1 car at Silverstone on September 20, 2006 before setting off for Shanghai early next week.
Born in Juvisy-sur-Orge, France on 5 April 1982, Alexandre Premat, has won the prestigious Macau Formula 3 GP and the Formula 3 Masters of Zandvoort. He claimed a record number of wins in the 2005/6 A1 Grand Prix series guiding A1 Team France to the championship. Premat is one of the leading drivers in the GP2 championship having finished the 2006 season in third place.
Alexandre Premat said: "This is a great opportunity to try an F1 car at MF1 Racing (Spyker). I've been waiting for this day since I first started racing as a young boy. I've worked so hard for this opportunity and am determined to show my full potential at Shanghai and show I have earned it. I'm looking forward to helping the team develop the car both on the Friday at Shanghai, and during the test at Silverstone.
