When Pitpass reported the launch of the new Will Ferrell comedy, 'Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby', it predicted that the NASCAR-based comedy could give the series the same high-impact PR boost as 'Days of Thunder' did in the early 90s.
Sure enough, Talladega Nights is the biggest grossing movie in the United States right now, out-selling Pirates of the Caribbean and Miami Vice.
The movie, which was only released last week, has already grossed $47m, showing at over 3,800 locations.
With Juan Pablo Montoya, and possibly Jacques Villeneuve, heading to NASCAR, organizers could be laughing all the way to the bank.
