The BMW Sauber F1.06 driven in the Hungarian Grand Prix by Robert Kubica was subsequently disqualified. He had finished in seventh place. The Pole and the BMW Sauber Team lose two world championship points.
Willy Rampf (Technical Director): "During the post-race technical inspection of the car, it was found to be two kilograms underweight. The reason for this is that the intermediate tyres on Robert's car were in use for 51 laps and had sustained unexpected high rubber wear. That was the case above all in the final stages of the race on a dry track. There's no ambiguity about being underweight, we just have to accept it. The FIA made it clear that there is no question of any implied intention."
