Following the collapse of race promoter Didier Defourny's company, DDGP, the 2006 Belgian Grand Prix was removed from the calendar. Though some claim the race was already in doubt due to redevelopment work that had to be carried out to the pit and paddock area to Bernie Ecclestone's satisfaction.
Race fans who bought their tickets through specialist ticket suppliers, such as Grand Prix Tickets, the official partner of Pitpass, soon received their refunds, however those that bought their tickets direct from Spa Francorchamps feared they had lost their money.
The Court of Appeal has now pronounced its judgment and the bankruptcy of DDGP has been confirmed, however, SPCSF (Societe de Promotion du Circuit de Spa Francorchamps) has informed legal agents that refunds on 2006 tickets were available from June 28.
