Lewis Hamilton will drive the McLaren F1 car next week, but the team is stressing that the GP2 sensation is not testing the car.
"We are testing with Pedro (de la Rosa) and Gary (Paffett) in Jerez next week," a McLaren source confirmed to Pitpass, "but we also had a filming obligation for one of our Partners which involves running a F1 car. Consequently, Lewis will drive the car.
"Its in no way a test," stressed the source, "but a promotional activity with the car running for filming purposes only."
Championship leader Hamilton was in action at a two-day GP2 test this week in preparation for the next round of the series which takes place at Magny Cours in two weeks.
