The Trials of Rubython: Part ???

Just weeks after being hit for £75,000 in damages, and £135,000 in costs, in a libel case involving former Jaguar boss Tony Purnell, Business F1 publisher Tom Rubython looks set for another date in the London law courts.

Rubython, who appears to have spent so much time in court that sooner or later a Judge is bound to say "not you again", is now facing a lawsuit involving the FIA's Director of Communications, Richard Woods.

It is understood that the law suit is in response to a recent article in Business F1, written by Rubython, entitled 'The propagandist'.

Woods, who is suing for libel damages of £300,000, is also seeking an injunction banning any repetition of the allegations at the centre of his claim. The writ was issued by Steeles of London, who also acted for Purnell.

In August 2005, Rubython was forced to pay £8,500 and costs to Alan Donnelly, an official representative of Max Mosley, following a story in Business F1 falsely alleging that Donnelly had diverted fees from the FIA for personal use.

Pitpass attended the final day of the recent Purnell hearing and hopes to attend the Woods case when it takes place.
