Echoing the cry of Millwall (football) supporters, who claim, "nobody likes us, and we don't care", Honda chief executive Nick Fry has given his explanation as to why there is perceived bad feeling towards the team, within the paddock and in the media.
"The establishment - teams like WilliamsF1, McLaren, Ferrari and Renault - have dominated this sport for a long time and they have a huge vested interest in making sure a new team does not break into their club," he told The Times. "We have pushed our way in and they don't like it.
"Negative comments that come from elsewhere in the paddock are probably made to destabilise a happy team determined to progress."
Then again, it could be said that the Honda F1 team, like BAR before it, brings much of this so-called negativity on itself.
Perhaps the team should concentrate on the job in hand - earn its money, so to speak - and start winning races, then it will be fully entitled to compare itself to WilliamsF1, McLaren, Ferrari and Renault.
