The Pitpass San Marino GP Quiz

NEWS STORY

In order to meet this week's deadline we had to give Geoff Collins a little bit of hot gossip regarding a current F1 driver, needless to say, once he delivered the San Marino Quiz, Geoff wanted more gossip. Bloody typical!

Anyway, of the races thus far, San Marino has the longest tradition, at least in terms of races hosted. This year's event will be the 26th San Marino Grand Prix, compared to Australia (22), Bahrain (3) and Malaysia (8).

This week, Geoff looks back at the 2005, 1993 and 1982 events.

As was often the case, in 2005, Kimi Raikkonen stormed off into the lead at the start of the race but was sidelined after only nine laps. What broke?

And who couldn't find a gear at the start, got going and then ran into the back of DC?

Looking back at 1993

Which driver only agreed to race the Thursday before the race?

And, it's not often we see an overtaking move for the lead these days. Who went from third to first in a single manoeuvre after the leaders had stopped for tyres?

Finally, in view of the special tribute being paid to the legendary Gilles Villeneuve at this year's meeting, with a town square being re-named in honour of the man, we look at the 1982 race.

There were 31 cars attempting to qualify at the previous race. How many cars turned up at Imola?

And whose car was disqualified after the race for being underweight, denying ATS two cars in the points?

Think you know F1, think you know the San Marino GP?

Do the quiz, test your knowledge..
