Speaking ahead of today's MotoGP event at Qatar, which he went on to win, Valentino Rossi has said that should he opt to switch to four wheels and join Ferrari, the risk would be his more than the Italian team's.
"It is a big gamble and a big risk for them as well, even if not as big as it is for me," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
There has been speculation regarding a move to F1 and Ferrari for some time, and the Italian has tested for the Maranello outfit on a number of occasions, most recently in February at Valencia. In March, Rossi said that he would make a decision regarding his future by the summer.
"We will know something between here and June," he said today. "I have tried not to think about it for a while, that way I will have a clearer mind when I have to make the decision."
Referring to rumours that Ferrari might have 'cooled' on the idea of the move, he said: "I don't think there is an anti-Rossi camp. There are people who are thinking coldly about the pros and cons."
