A high level FIA source has confirmed to Pitpass that it is his understanding that Super Aguri - which today shook down its season opening car, the SA05 - has signed up to Bernie Ecclestone's new Concorde Agreement, which comes into effect in 2008.

"It is our understanding that they have signed up," the source told Pitpass.

Although some had taken it as a 'done deal' that the new team would side with Ecclestone, in light of the fact that the Englishman 'persuaded' the existing ten teams to give their approval for the Japanese team's entry, others believed the Japanese outfit's close ties to Honda, a staunch supporter of the GPMA, would see it join the manufacturers and manufacturer-backed teams.

With Super Aguri on-board, this brings the number of teams signed up to the new Concorde Agreement up to six, with McLaren siding with the manufacturers which comprise the GPMA.
