Max Mosley, who (conveniently) released the FIA's proposed regulations at a time when many F1 people are on holiday, or at least concentrating on other things, has admitted that he finds the new 2006 qualifying format, confusing.
"The qualifying system for the races in 2006 is going to be very tough to understand," he told L'Equipe. "I think that the public is going to be just like me when I watch an American football game. I can watch it. It's a great show but I don't have the slightest idea about what's happening.
"It's very annoying," he said of the proposed knock-out format being introduced next season, at Bernie Ecclestone's behest. "I knew that qualification based on the fastest lap were not much fun for the public in the stands. But on television it was really good. You knew exactly what was going on," he said.
If he thinks that's confusing, what does Max think we make of some of his new proposals.
