After another dominant performance in the Malaysian round of the A1 Grand Prix championship A1 Team France heads to Dubai aiming to claim another double-victory. Nicolas Lapierre will be back behind the wheel of the French car defending the France colours after Alexandre Prémat took another double victory in Malaysia, It was A1 Team France's eighth straight win of the season.
Attracted by the team's outstanding success in this nation versus nation tournament, the Gillette Sport Show, ITN Factual - a major news and documentary production company shooting for Discovery Channel and TF1
France will be following every move the team makes at the Dubai International Circuit. The broadcasters will be looking to see what happens as Nicolas Lapierre and Alexandre Premat attempt to help the team to its
fifth double-win in a row.
This weekend will be Nicolas Lapierre's first time in Dubai: "I really want to finish 2005 on a high note. I hope the sand will not affect our cars too badly. I'm glad that we'll get extra time to test the T-cars that will be
available to us for the first time of the season. I am feeling very fit and ready to race."
His team mate Alexandre Prémat commented: "In Malaysia, we were pleased with the performance of the car. I hope that Nicolas will have another good weekend for the team and continue to increase our championship lead."
Jean-Paul Driot, team principal A1 Team France commented: "Again for this race, we will remain focused and I hope that the team and the drivers will continue to perform well. Coming back to Dubai reminds me of many good memories. I can look back and see the first dreams of Sheikh Maktoum and now it looks easy to build a series like this one, but it isn't: it involves a lot of very hardwork.”
A1 Team France is one of 25 teams contesting the new A1 Grand Prix Series, the 'World Cup of Motorsport'. After the fifth round of the season, A1 Team France has a strong lead in the championship with 92 points. The team has notched up eight consecutive victories.
