The New Zealand A1 Grand Prix team will stick with its new engine for tomorrow's races in Round 4 at Eastern Creek in Sydney.
The team had concerns about the strength of the new engine put in for the last round in Portugal, but the engineers are confident it is now running as well as the original engine.
The engine manufacturer, Zytek, conducted tests on the engine yesterday and data downloaded by A1 Team.NZL suggested that the relative strength of both engines is now even and nothing would be gained by switching to the old engine.
A1 Team. NZL chief executive Bob McMurray said he and the team is comfortable with the situation and keen to move on.
"Weather permitting we're going to give it heaps today and hopefully set ourselves up to perform well in tomorrow's big races," McMurray said.
