A1 Team Switzerland heads to Eastern Creek - Australia for the fourth race of the brand new A1 Grand Prix Series aiming to convert its recent podium finishes into its first victory. Team principal Max Welti is confident
that his driver Neel Jani will continue to fight at the sharp end after claiming two podium finishes at the last race in Portugal.
"I went to Australia early this week to acclimatise to the temperature and the time difference," said Jani. "A new track is always a fun challenge and most of the drivers don't know the Eastern Creek track, so the playing field should be quite even from that perspective. We'll have to learn the track very quickly and it's a great opportunity for us to show our true potential. From what I've seen so far on the videos, the facilities at Eastern Creek are great and the circuit looks really interesting with a good mix of fast and slow corners. But it's difficult to know how much grip the track will have until we are out there on Friday. I'm sure we will be competitive again and hopefully we can claim our first win of the season."
A1 Team Switzerland team principal, Max Welti added: "It was a strong drive from Neel Jani in Portugal to finish third in the sprint race and second in the feature race. It shows how the car and team is progressing since the start of the season. I'm excited that we're going to Australia which is a great country and where there are a lot of racing fans."
