As he faces his final race weekend with Ferrari, Rubens Barrichello is already looking ahead to 2006 when he joins Jenson Button at Honda.
However, having spent six seasons with the Italian team, mostly playing rhythm guitar to Michael Schumacher's lead, the Brazilian has no intention of playing a similar supporting role to Jenson Button. Although BAR, and new owner Honda, clearly adores the British driver, constantly reminding us that the team's future is built around him, Barrichello clearly has his own ideas.
"It's quite difficult until I have the chance to drive with him," he said, when asked how he rates the Englishman, according to The Guardian. "It depends very much on the equipment, tyres, car set-up and the way you carry the whole team."
"I'm coming very positively," he said of the move to Honda. "Both drivers will have the freedom to do their best. Jenson seems to be a super guy away from the track and I think he is very, very talented."
However, talking to The Independent, the Brazilian said: "Even though the team is built around Jenson, they haven't won yet so they need a plus and that, I hope that is me."
We can't wait.
