A foggy morning at the former Eastern German track turned to brilliant sunshine in time for the two practice sessions today. The team put in 19 laps in the first one-hour session session following standard checks after a new engine was installed and set the fastest time to top the sheets 0.023 seconds ahead of closest rival A1 Team France.
Session two was used to work on car balance on used tyres and despite this Robbie Kerr still made the top six. It was the time from the earlier session that earned Robbie third overall for the day. Despite a slightly longer track than Brands Hatch the time separating the top 10 has dropped dramatically to under one second giving promise of close racing this weekend.
Robbie Kerr: "Obviously it went well in the first session being quickest but we've still got work to do. It's good that the time was fast enough to put us third. For session two we worked on getting a balance on older tyres. We ended up sixth fastest which isn't too bad but not where we want to be but we know what's making the differences now and can move forward."
