Telmex-backed driver Salvador Duran is getting ready to compete in the inaugural A1 Grand Prix race meeting, which will be held on Sunday.
"Chava", after competing in the British Formula 3 National Class penultimate race meeting where he posted one fastest lap and one podium, returned to his flat located in Oxford, last Sunday night, and continues his physical and mental preparation eyeing the World Cup of Motorsports race.
Regarding Brands Hatch circuit, which hosted FIA F1 and Champ Car World Series races in different layouts, the Mexican driver said: "I haven't raced there, I saw the track last week and it's much narrower than it looks, it looks bumpy, very uneven. The last turn, coming out from the long straight with the A1 (car) is taken very differently than with other vehicles. It (the car) has less grip, more power and more weight".
"The race will be pretty interesting, competing against Alvaro Parente and Nelson Piquet Jr, who are good friends of mine. Also, there are other known faces, such as Tengyi Jiang from the Chinese team.
All the drivers are very strong because there are Formula One drivers (Alex Yoong, Jos Vestapen and Ralph Firman). There are no bad teams or bad drivers, I mean; Ħit is the World Cup of Motorsports! There are no weak rivals," the Telmex-backed driver said.
