Toyota has confirmed that it has held preliminary talks with Bridgestone with regards a tyre supply in 2006.
A statement issued by the Japanese team at Spa reads:
"Toyota can confirm that it is in advanced negotiations with Bridgestone over tyre supply for its Formula One team in 2006 but no agreement has been signed," Toyota said in a statement at the Belgian Grand Prix."
Michelin, which is due to issue a statement this weekend regarding which teams it will continue to supply, has previously indicated that it wishes to supply less teams in 2006 since it currently supplies 7 out of 10.
It's widely thought that WilliamsF1 will also change to Bridgestone rubber.
