BMW, which enters F1 as a team in its own right next season, has admitted to holding talks with WilliamsF1 driver, Nick Heidfeld.
Although the German has a contract with the English team for 2006, and like many others awaits the outcome of the Jenson Button saga, there have been reports in the last week claiming that the former Prost, Jordan and Sauber star has inked a BMW deal for 2007.
"I cannot confirm that," said BMW Motorsport boss, Mario Theissen, at spa today. "We are in discussions currently and as soon as we have a clear situation I will certainly announce it."
Heidfeld is not racing in Belgium this weekend, as he is still recovering from the after effects of a crash during the recent test sessions at Monza.
