Despite denials from almost everyone involved - Ferrari, McLaren, Kimi Raikkonen and Michael Schumacher - speculation over who might go where in 2007 continues.
In a week which began with the German media claiming that seven-time World Champion Schumacher was heading to McLaren-Mercedes for 2007, and then had Raikkonen signing a provisional deal with Ferrari, the frenzy continues.
Today, German publication Bild quotes Schumacher as saying that he would welcome the Finn as teammate.
"I wouldn't have any problem driving with Kimi in a team with Ferrari in 2007," the German is alleged to have said.
Referring to the rumours of a move to McLaren, Bild quotes Schumacher as saying: "I'm happy in this team. ,I don't want to back out now at a point where we're not doing so well. I can't imagine driving for another team.
"I haven't yet signed for anything for beyond 2006. But I'll do it as soon as the right moment for me comes. The decision will be made in due time.
"I don't have any idea when I'll retire," he adds. "But I don't think that I've got a lot of years ahead of me."
Speaking in person at Monza this morning, Schumacher was dismissive of the reports and appeared clearly agitated that the speculation is getting out of hand.
Asked about his plans for 2007 the German said that his contract with Ferrari is until the end of 2006, and at this time there is no firm plan for beyond that.
However, the German is adamant that if he does choose to continue racing beyond 2006 - and that will almost certainly depend on the competitiveness of the new car - it will be with Ferrari and nobody else.
