With many within the paddock utterly confused by the new European Union anti-tobacco legislation, BAR has opted to play it safe and remove all tobacco signage from its cars ahead of tomorrow's race.

A statement issued by the Brackley team this afternoon revealed that British American Tobacco, which owns 55% of the team, had made the decision to remove all references to its Lucky Strike brand.

"While British American Tobacco are aware of recent efforts by the (British) government to clarify the position regarding tobacco branding, we had made a decision to run unbranded at the race on advice we had at that point," it read.

McLaren made its last appearance in (West) tobacco livery on Friday, though, ironically, the Hungarian event is sponsored by Marlboro as is Ferrari.
