As India prepares to launch its A1 Grand Prix entry, it's understood that the organizers of the series are close to announcing details of three more franchisees (countries), bringing the total of confirmed entries up to nineteen.
With just eight weeks before the inaugural season gets underway, at Brands Hatch on 24 September, A1 GP has been grabbing the headlines this week with confirmation that former F1 star Jos Verstappen is to drive the Dutch entry and rumours that WilliamsF1 test driver, Antonio Pizzonia, is in talks to drive for Brazil.
Although the three new franchisees have yet to be announced, it's believed that at least two of them are European.
Many of the teams aiming to contest the series will be in action at Silverstone later this week, before a further test at Paul Ricard.
