FIA President, Max Mosley, will meet with McLaren boss, Ron Dennis and Red Bull's Christian Horner this week, in what is being seen as a 'clear the air' meeting.
As F1 attempts to rebuild its image after months of political wrangling, which culminated in the Indianapolis fiasco, the three men are meeting in what is seen as a clear attempt to talk things over before they get out of hand.
Although Mosley is known not to be Dennis' biggest fan, it's definitely better that the Englishman represents the so-called 'rebel' teams than Minardi boss Paul Stoddart. Meanwhile, Horner will probably be the independent 'voice of reason'.
With the FIA World Council meeting and then the International Court of Appeal on 14 September, not to mention the threat of a 'breakaway' series, F1 faces a difficult future which could see further, possibly irreparable, damage done to the sport.
Let's hope that Mosley, Dennis and Horner can begin the process of rebuilding the sport, and leave the egos and politics at the door.
