Fan power to decide Journo's fate

Remember the journalist who proclaimed that he would run naked around Silverstone should McLaren win a Grand Prix in 2004?

Sadly, for Scots journo, Bob McKenzie, McLaren hasn't forgotten, far from it.

The Daily Express journalist said that should McLaren - after a disastrous start to its campaign - win a race in 2004, he would run naked around the Northamptonshire track. Shortly afterwards, Kimi Raikkonen scored a famous victory at Spa Francorchamps, prompting team boss Ron Dennis to remind the Scot of his bet.

There has been the odd rumour since then, with reports that an agreement had been reached whereby Bob would run in Melbourne. Furthermore, claims by the Scot that the notorious Northamptonshire weather could pose a health problem, were dismissed by Dennis, who said that the journalist could wear "three socks".

Ahead of this weekend's British Grand Prix, McLaren is asking fans to decide whether Bob should honour his wager, giving them the opportunity to vote through its website.

Those that vote may choose what track configuration the Scot runs, and also whether he should be allowed clothing.

Fans that make a donation to Tommy's, the Baby Charity, will be entered into a special draw which could see them win a tour of the McLaren Technology Centre.
