The Monaco Grand Prix weekend witnessed a media feeding frenzy, as reports that Jordan owner Alex Shnaider was already disillusioned with Formula One, and looking to offload the team after just a few months, swept the paddock.
Initially it was claimed that another Russian billionaire was interested in purchasing the team, but this rumour soon gave way to reports that former F1 driver, turned property developer, Eddie Irvine was heading a consortium interested in snapping up the team.
Speaking at the Nurburgring at the weekend, Jordan Sporting Director, Trevor Carlin, rubbished the rumours.
"The team isn't for sale," he said. "It's simply mischief being made by people who want to destabilise us."
