Despite yesterday's abnormal temperatures, which resulted in a number of race fans being treated for heat exhaustion, forecasters predict that it will rain at some point during today's European Grand Prix.
Record temperatures caught everyone off guard at the Nurburgring on Saturday, since up to a few days before the race weekend kicked off, thunderstorms had been forecast.
Teams, drivers and tyre suppliers, Michelin and Bridgestone, were surprised by the unusual weather, which saw temperatures reach as high as 34 degrees C.
"It is not quite as hot as Bahrain yet so our tyres should be able to cope," said Bridgestone's technical manager, Hisao Suganuma.
Forecasters are predicting maximum temperatures of 27 degrees C, with sporadic rain showers throughout the afternoon.
