The FIA is delighted with the response it is getting to its survey into Formula One, and how race fans feel about the sport.

However, F1 fans are so intent on making their opinions known that the servers handling the survey have collapsed several times under the sheer strain of numbers.

A spokesman for the FIA contacted Pitpass shortly after Sunday's race and asked how the leading independent F1 site viewed the survey. We said that fans felt frustrated by their inability to access the site and also the ambiguity of certain questions.

The spokesman was keen to make it clear that the FIA is doing all that it can to deal with the technical issues, and that at one point the five servers handling the survey had 40,000 fans logging on at the same time, indeed 600,000 surveys were completed in around four hours at one stage.

As for the (apparent) ambiguity of the questions, the spokesman said that this too is something which the FIA is keen to address, since it wants the survey to fully reflect the opinion of all F1 fans.

In case you haven't yet made your opinion known, you can access the FIA survey by clicking here.
