There is a possibility that Juan Pablo Montoya could miss the forthcoming Bahrain Grand Prix after slipping and injuring himself whilst playing tennis on Saturday.

Talking to Pitpass on Sunday evening a McLaren spokeswoman confirmed that having slipped whilst playing tennis on Saturday, Juan Pablo has "suffered a hairline fracture and some (minimal) tissue damage" to his left shoulder.

"We are waiting for it to stabilize and a decision will be made on Thursday," she added.

Asked to confirm who would replace the Colombian she said that it was "too soon to speculate" and that therefore no decision has been made at this time.

That said, it would most probably be Pedro de la Rosa that partners Kimi Raikkonen, as the Spaniard is the team's designated third driver for the Bahrain event, while Wurz has no experience in the MP4-20.

It was previously found that the Austrian, who is around 6' 2" (1.87 m) would not fit into the car consequently the team has been working on a chassis to accommodate him. It's understood that the Woking outfit is now working flat-out to prepare a car for Wurz in order that he can run the third car, if necessary.
