It would appear that despite criticism from its rivals, and a fresh directive from the FIA, that BAR still intends putting new engines in both of its cars in Malaysia this weekend.
Talking to reporters, team boss Nick Fry said: The rules are the rules, they are what they are and they say you can change your engine if you stop before the chequered flag.
"I can't really see what the issue is," he added. "The team made sure with the FIA beforehand that this was the case, and that's it."
It remains to be seen, should the Brackley team proceed with its plan, how the FIA will react. As we previously reported, it's not the fact that BAR exploited a loophole - something that teams have done throughout the history of the sport - but that the team did it so blatantly.
