Further to our previous report, the Portuguese media is claiming that Tiago Monteiro, will follow Mário Araújo Cabral, Pedro Matos Chaves and Pedro Lamy into F1.
Only hours after Narain Karthikeyan's manager claimed that the Indian driver has been given the number one seat at Jordan, reports began surfacing suggesting that Monteiro will be his number two.
It's claimed that Monteiro has all the necessary backing for the seat and that a contract was signed on Monday - which will (of course) come as news to everyone at the team's Silverstone HQ.
Like Karthikeyan, Monteiro has links with Trevor Carlin, sporting director at MidlandF1, which last week bought out Jordan.
It's said that Monteiro's drive will be announced "soon", and that they 28-year-old will be presented at the team's 'launch' in Moscow at the end of the month.
