Minardi are to make an "important announcement" at a press conference to be held at midday in Amsterdam on Thursday (23rd December).
There is speculation from some media sources that this will be to confirm Dutchman Christijan Albers as one of Minardi's drivers for the 2005 season.
Albers public relations firm was today remaining tight lipped, however, and had no immediate comment.
25 year old Albers is a former German Formula Three champion and has been driving in the DTM series this season. He also tested recently for both Minardi and Jordan
If the conference is for a driver announcement then Robert Doornbos is another possibility. Doornbos did well in F3000 this year winning at Spa and drove the third Jordan for the last three races of the 2004 season.
