Further to our story concerning Chinese manufacturer Brilliance entering the inaugural World Touring Car Championship, we understand that former McLaren and Ferrari designer, John Barnard, is working on the project.
Brilliance is the only Chinese maker with a floorpan of its own design, it uses a 2-litre Mitsubishi engine.
Barnard, whose most recent involvement in F1, was with Arrows and then Prost, both now defunct, subsequently got involved in MotoGP, joining Kenny Roberts' team as technical director.
The Englishman recently attended a preliminary technical meeting with his new employers, with one source claiming that it was like putting a shark in a fishpond, such is the man's knowledge and experience.
