It has been confirmed that Nick Heidfeld will take part in next week's scheduled test at Jerez, his second outing with the WilliamsF1 team.
Hampered by poor conditions on Wednesday, the first of his two days with the Grove outfit in Spain, Heidfeld was second quickest on Thursday, even though the poor weather continued.
"Yes, he will test again next week," a spokesperson told Pitpass this morning, "he already had these dates on offer."
With Anthony Davidson effectively out of the frame, it looks as though the second seat alongside Mark Webber will come down to a straight shoot-out between Heidfeld and WilliamsF1 tester Antonio Pizzonia.
Although many regard Pizzonia as team boss Frank Williams' favourite, there are others that believe Heidfeld could be in with a shout, especially if he performs well next week. BMW has always said that it would leave the choice of drivers up to Williams, and would not insist on a German driver.
Elsewhere, there are reports that Mark Webber has been asked to think carefully when talking to the media, following comments made about Antonio Pizzonia in recent days.
