No not Michael, or even Ralf, but Tony.
Thanks to reader Eric Mogensen for pointing out that Tony Schumacher clinched his second NHRA Top Fuel championship last Sunday at Maple Grove Raceway, having tied the record for victories in a season.
Schumacher claimed the Top Fuel season title, and a $400,000 bonus, with wins over Brandon Bernstein and Bob Vandergriff, his ninth win of the season.
Much like his F1 namesake, Schumacher has been the dominating force this season, having led the championship for all but two events, with two races still remaining.
"To win the Powerade world championship and tie the record for wins in a season on the same day, it's awesome," he told reporters.
"I was joking with some people that I should just retire after today because how will I ever be able to top this?" he added.
What is it with these Schumachers?
